[Corinthian's in some unidentifiable home, sitting idly against the wall. He's watching (or so we presume, behind his sunglasses) a small, black dragon as it sleeps on his knee.]

...He must really be gone.

[a sigh. He leans back and tilts his head towards the ceiling.] Tell me, how long before someone must make a payment on a home?

It varies. If you're living in a home someone else was paying rent or a mortgage on, you should try to find the lease they signed, or contact the people they were renting or buying from. But generally, it's a week at the shortest, a month at the longest. If you're renting from a landlord, they only have to give you three day's notice before you get kicked out if you haven't paid.

[He'd be more shocked if he hadn't spoken to a talking dragon recently. A very adorable one. This one looks creepier, though.]

How do they kick you out?

If they can't get you to leave peacefully, they can call the police to have you arrested for tresspassing.

But that will take time too.

Assuming the policemen to be able to spare people, they should be there within a couple of hours. If they're not, it'll take longer.

[frown. Maybe he'll just kill them.]

Is it important, that you stay in that house?

No. But I'm already here, and I didn't have to pay him.

[A slight laugh.]

If you can hold it, they might give up on it. Especially considering recent situations with the police. But I doubt they'll overlook it for long.

I guess we'll have to see. [he pets the dragon's head with one finger]

That we will. It might be an interesting show. I wonder how many casualties it would take to get them to back down? [A slight laugh.]

Assuming the worst of me already?

I assume the worst of everybody. You'd be surprised what people are capable of - or perhaps you wouldn't.

[he clicks his tongue, chiding]

You won't make friends that way.

How kind of you to be concerned. But I'm not trying to make friends. People are unreliable; even more so when they're at the whim of this place.

[He's veered close to giving up a few times lately, but that just isn't his style now.]
