As soon as you get your own Faerie Godmother, you realize those tales aren't all they're cracked up to be.

[ Hey, she has a Fairy Godmother, and she is AWESOME. Just... not at magic. Ella bites her tongue against the automatic defense, shooting a look elsewhere until the urge passes. ]

That's hardly a proper thing to say about her, Harry. [ She frowns. ] She really cares about you, you know. I didn't figure you for that type to treat someone like that.

[Harry isn't a dolt, he can tell what that look means.]

You have a different experience with Faerie Godmothers?

It's not like that. Lash isn't real. At least, she doesn't have a physical body. She's an entity that lives in my head. And she's not- we're not dating or anything like that. She just thought it was amusing to make everyone think we were.

[ Oh hey there is a FASCINATING spot on the wall let's stare at it for a second. ]

Maaaaaaaaybe... [ Technically she's not supposed to talk about her Fairy Godmother. But she kinda sorta broke that when she told Jack she had a fairy - but it didn't count because she didn't say the fairy was her Fairy Godmother, right? ]

Alright, I'll take that as a 'yes you do' then. I suppose yours treats you fairly well?

[ A pause at the first question. Why would he even ... ] What do you mean?

You don't want to tell me or you actually can't?

Three years ago a friend and I were fighting demons. We beat them but we didn't destroy them. Later we were celebrating and one of the demons showed up and essentially tried to force a possession. The demon was going to try and possess either me or a toddler. There wasn't really any choice. Fortunately, I resisted the possession, but not before the demon left an imprint of her personality on my brain to try and convince me to let her possess me. That imprint is Lash.

It's important to understand that Lash isn't the demon. I'm not saying she's nice and cuddly and harmless. But she's different than the demon. Originally she wanted me to allow full possession, but not really anymore.
