[The comm NV turns on, showing one of the sparsely furnished starting apartments. The NV itself seems to be propped up on a table, and a white hand moves past the screen, then a white person. The person sits on a couch across from the NV and grins into it. He looks pretty creepy, actually. Ivory skin, snow-white hair and glowing gold irises on ( Read more... )

[She's technically working herself at the moment, but there's no rule about checking the NV system between deliveries. Besides the person on the screen has the palest skin she's ever seen, but she's hardly one to comment considering her own duel tones.]

Why not go with something dark then ... Shadow?

[She smiles one of her knowing smiles.]

I suppose color should have been taken into account, but few people find things of the light terrifying.

If you are a looking for a name with a bigger kick, perhaps Veran or Farore?

Yeah, I almost passed her up cause of her color, but I just couldn't.

What do those names mean?

Veran is a name among my people, next to my own I am fond it. Farore is one of the three Goddesses, she is often associated with the element fire.

Veran's nice. I'll keep that one in mind. Yer people, do they all look like you?

They do. We are known as the Twili, we have lived without light for some time unlike the Hylians back home. Hylians and humans have many traits in common, except for their ears. Ours are all quite long and pointed compared to the people of Earth.

[Midna pulls the edge of her hood back slightly enough to reveal a very elf like ear and then let's the fabric fall back into place.]

You are quite different from humans I have seen too.

I see! So you live in a world that's totally dark? Guess that wouldn't be too bad. Before I got split from him, I lived in another's soul, and it basically looked like a city during the daytime. Except sideways.

[a pause] I didn't like it too much.

Heheheheh! That's cause I'm not human!

It is not bad, but it is not good either. Many of my people long to return to the world of the light. Another's soul you say? I have never heard of such a thing, but then again I have not heard of many things in this world, but what you speak of sounds quite strange.

Hn, well. I guess people ain't ever gonna be happy where they are. And yeah. Though technically I came from his soul in the first place. It's weird. It's uncommon back where I come from, too.

They never are. We constantly struggle to live and people there are always struggling for more power. They really do not understand...

My people could not survive in the light these days if they tried, they would grow ill beneath the rays of the light and die if exposed for too long. The land would have to be covered in Twilight to make the world livable. Which is not much different than how we live currently, they would come to hate it.

But we brought such a fate onto ourselves long ago.

It was known as the Triforce and there is nothing more powerful in all of Hyrule. So yes, it was pretty important as you say.
