It's been a few days now... and it might be still too early to tell... but I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep at night for a while. ... Maybe never. I don't know.

I'll be laying in bed just about to nod off and then out of where I'll hear something... well actually I think that I hear something and then it's even harder to go to sleep ( Read more... )

Ah - Ms. Rinoa, I do not think that staying up all night is a solution.

I'd just rather be awake while those things are out there. You know, just in case something happens.

And please don't call me Miss. Just Rinoa is fine!

And so you will promptly exhaust yourself.

No I won't. Lots of people work all night and sleep during the day. I'm sure it will just take a few days of me staying up all night and sleeping after the morning Sirens go off. I'll figure out some way to block out the light from the windows so it's dark enough I can sleep.

Are you planning to take a night job, then?

I... guess so. I probably should.

[A grimace, and a slight sigh.]

Ultimately, that may be more hazardous than a day job. For what it is worth, there has never been a breach of the apartment under normal conditions.

Yeah. I know. I was told that already... but for right now I can't sleep at night. I can't stop thinking about what might happen if there is an accident.

Does that make any sense?

As a matter of course, it does. But there are other people watching and listening.

And I'm grateful that they are... but for now... it's really hard to relax at night. I'm hoping it changes after things aren't so fresh, but in the meantime I think it will be better if I avoid lying in bed restless all night.

How long have you been here anyway?

Eleven months.

You've ... been here a year? [Close enough.]

mentis_reae December 16 2010, 05:21:47 UTC
Indeed. I arrived on the twentieth of January.

Is that normal? I wasn't expecting to leave right away... a couple weeks, maybe even a few months. But...

... I could end up staying here for a year?

mentis_reae December 16 2010, 05:28:52 UTC
It is altogether possible. Indeed, for many the stay seems to be indefinite.

But I can't stay here forever. I don't even think I should stay here a year. There are...

[She halts, and thinks about just cutting the recording short for several moments. But no... that would just be worse, right?]

I just can't stay away from my world for too long.
