It's been a few days now... and it might be still too early to tell... but I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep at night for a while. ... Maybe never. I don't know.

I'll be laying in bed just about to nod off and then out of where I'll hear something... well actually I think that I hear something and then it's even harder to go to sleep ( Read more... )

Sorry Rinoa - I won't be working the night shift much longer. I'm just covering until Eric recovers from his injuries, and he worked nights only three days out of the week.

I'm off night work tomorrow, if you like I can show you around properly tomorrow after I get off work from the Khave.

Oh! That's okay! Don't worry about it. I'm a big girl so I'll find something to keep myself busy.

That sounds like a plan... cause I really do need to get out and about. Where did you want to go?

[ She giggles a little at that comment. ]

Just be careful, okay? Oh, if you go out, I left one of the spare keys in the kitchen cabinet. The one with the silverware. I'll try to be quiet when I come back.

As for where - well, I was thinking we could go to the Underground Mall first. How does that sound?

Um. I don't think I'm ready to go out at night on my own. But... I'll keep in mind where the keys are. And don't worry about being quiet because I'll probably still be up.

Cool! I wanted to check out the mall anyway. ...

... Wow. I don't think I could sound like more of a stereotype there, huh?

OH no, I wouldn't suggest going out at night. I meant during the morning while I'm at the Khave. [ Or asleep. ] You stay up late a lot?

[ And a laugh at that. ]

I don't know if it's a stereotype really. A lot of people like to check out the mall - there's a lot there. I used to go shopping with my friend Selphie back home. Actually, it's more like she dragged me, at first. [ Kairi had wanted to do nothing more than go to the island to wait for Sora and Riku - then was gradually convinced to go to the mall so as not to neglect her friends. ]

I thought you meant that we'd go out and see what there was to do at night. I guess that there wouldn't be that much... considering what goes on at night.

I don't usually stay up all night. It's just something I wanted to try. I figured I would sleep better after the morning Sirens because it seems to be the safest during the day here.

You know a Selphie too? I had a friend back home with that name too. And it's not like I have anything against shopping, but, we could try doing other stuff too.

Well, there are some areas that are open after sirens. I'm not sure if Club 24 is still open, but my friend Joe works there. Then there are a couple of rival clubs, and restaurants - I think the movie theatre is open late too. The buildings are protected against darkness monsters, so it's relatively safe.

As long as the doors and windows are shut tight, the monsters can't get in after sirens. A lot of the residential buildings have that added protection.

Yeah, she was about my age. She used to hang out with Wakka and Tidus, and I was usually with Sora and Riku. She was always really cheerful - well, is, not was. Is there anything particular you want to do while we're looking around? There's a library around too.

I would like to see the library. Is it nearby?

And could we just look around at night a bit? In case this doesn't get any better and I can't sleep at night for a while... I probably should look into finding a job. I'm really not sure what kind of job I could have though...

I haven't been there yet myself, but yes, I believe it's not too far. The Tower Apartments are almost equidistant to all the other sectors.

Sure we can look around at night a bit. [ Riku won't mind since she'll be with someone. Yah! ] There are a couple of jobs open right now - there's the hotel, and there are always positions open at the cafes and restaurants. And there are always openings with the Greeters here.

I'd like to help out you and the Greeters... but... not right now. I don't know how helpful I'd be to people just showing up. I could help out in the day I guess, once I've settled in a little bit. We could stop by those other jobs and see what they have available.

[Pause.]

So, um. I heard that some people stay here for a while. ... How long have you been here?

[ Voice ] wtf_keyblade December 17 2010, 00:17:24 UTC
Oh? Waiting until you've settled in is a good idea - we'd all welcome more people helping out. You have to tell me about that weapon of yours by the way. I've never seen anything like it. [ Axel's chakrums don't count. ] You can come along with me on some of the days or nights I go just to see how the job goes, and if it's something you would like to do too.

[ At the pause, she sobers a little. ] A little over two months. Supposedly I was here before, months ago, but... I don't remember any of it. And my friends from home who are her have been here even longer.

You mean my Blaster Edge? Oh sure! It's actually not that difficult to use once you figure out how to catch the blade when it comes back. I haven't known many people that use it... but I like it. What about that sword you had. It was a sword right? Things were a little crazy so I didn't really get a good look at it, but it looked kinda pretty. But it kind of looked like it... [pause.] nevermind. Like I said it was a little crazy at the time and I can't even remember all the details of it.

I'd like to tag along a couple of days when you go out... I really would like to do that. I'd like to help, and... it would be a good way to look out for my friends if they end up here.

Are you sure that maybe they just ran into someone that looked like you? How could you possibly forget about a place like this?

How long did it take you to learn how to use it? [ A pause, startled at the follow up. ] You saw it too? It's ... it's a

[ A pause, and she abruptly flips the filter on. Not a good idea to talk about that with people like Vanitas and Xehanort and god knows who else around. ]

It's called a keyblade. [ Still a bit mystified, because she didn't think - nevermind. ] It's okay, you can tell me, What did you think it looked like?

[ A soft laugh. ] Okay, the next time I go out, and you're free, I'll let you know then. It is a good way to keep an eye out for people that know you. [ Though it can also work against you D: ] Well... that's what I thought originally, but they knew my name. And some peopel who have left here only to come back again sometimes don't remember their time here. I don't know why.

Ummm. I think I did that right.

I really don't remember how long it took. Hmm...a while, like more than a year. I almost broke my fingers so many times because I was too stubborn to let anyone help me with it at first.

That's got to be so weird that people remember you but you don't recall being here before. I don't know how I'd feel about it. Well.. I bet I'd be a little creeped out and probably a little selfconscious too.

I've never heard of a keyblade before. And I'm really not sure what I saw. I didn't get a good look at it... but it kind of looked like there were flowers etched into the edge of it. ... Since this message is locked between us, I shouldn't talk about it where other people will hear, right?

... [Pause as she thinks. Then suddenly she whispers-] You didn't steal it did you?

Looks good to me! But... I'm not sure how to make it more complicated than that, yet anyway ( ... )

It looked cool! And I liked not having to get too close to danger. Besides, I'm a little old fashion and kind of thought swords were for boys. Not that I would turn down learning how to use one if someone offered to teach me. But, believe it or not, people generally don't like giving me a sword and then encourage me to swing it around. ... So. You know... It probably is for the best if I just stick with what I know and leave the swords to the people that won't accidentally cut their own arm off.

You're so lucky to have them here for you. I'd like to meet them, cause they sound like good friends to have.

Don't worry about me telling anyone about the keyblade. I totally understand why you'd be worried about people finding out about it. ... [She wants to explain why she understands... but wah bail!] ... I won't tell anybody. I promise.

And no talking to Xehanort fellows and guys dressed in black and red... with a helmet? Shouldn't be a problem since I don't normally like sharing too much with a person if I can't see their face.
