[It's dark, the NV is filming out on the street. There's a new night-vision feature installed, so it's a wash of tinted greens, but a bit better for visibility.
There's a small, brighter lit patch where a bike headlight's shining, casting shadows through a chainlink fence that's been put up around . It's dingy here- always dingy in the dark, but this is so run down it suggests somewhere in the industrial sector. Joe's coughing raggedly, but also furiously angry-
There's a jolting, disorienting hand-held camera movement that closes in on a large padlocked gate and a sign with SERO's logo. A new state of the art medical supply manufacturing center, Coming Soon!
Not everyone's thrilled about this. But then, what's this kid doing out so late on this side of town anyway?]
Get a load of this! I can't believe- Rrrgh!
[A sharp kick to the gate, rattling the fence. He coughs again, muffling the harsh sound into his jacket. Sucks in a gasp of a breath, hissing out a raw string of not-quite-swears. Then there's a new flare, something like a black fire with an ultraviolet aura, which erupts suddenly and chars the construction company's signboard to inky melted mess. ]
Stupid SERO! Taking over everything! Another building...to put more labs in, probably! Or make make more test-tubes.
[The view moves in closer, through the fence links, showing the deserted lot of halfpipe ramps and railings, along with a bulldozer. Something else is moving out there in the dark, a lumpy four-legged shadow, probably a creature of the night. It looks up to make eye contact for a brief moment, hackles raised, as if considering a charge....but then it turns, and lumbers away]
But this was our skate park. Ours, and now...
I don't care if it's too icy to do anything with now, if we'd have to wait till spring to hang out here again. In the spring it'll be all built over!
Puh! [A hard, derisive snort. The fence is kicked at again, several times, there's the sound of something else hacking away at the padlock too. He gives it a final kick, and turns away] ...what a joke!
