Guess it's time for me to join the "looking for a job" group too. Can't mooch off Neji forever.

[She's grinning.]

Alright, well. I've been trained in combat, and have extensive knowledge on weaponry so if there's a blacksmith or something around here, that would be incredibly awesomeI've got some experience with things like guard duty too, but ( Read more... )

What's so weird about that? Does everyone just rely on those gun things here?

Ah, no, no, miss! You misunderstand! It isn't weird at all--if anything, it's wonderful! I love things like "blacksmiths"--such a sense of honest work ethic--that in itself is wonderful! But beyond that, even: a "blacksmith" means that you are from a time in the past--a time in the past that I have not made acquaintence with just yet!

Well, potentially, we won't know that until we have talked at more length--but it's still exciting!

A time in the past? There are a lot of things here I'm unfamiliar with though... including the NV. [Pokes at it.] Don't see why that's so exciting though, I just want a job.

Really! "A lot" of things! How many things? Could you make a list of them? Ah, I suppose you are a commoner, too, aren't you?

[He'll get back to the job thing in a minute here...]

A "commoner"? [Gets a little defensive.] I'm not from one of the noble families, but I'm still a damn good shinobi.

And I'm not making a list. My home was just... less technologically advanced than this place. [Good job learning new vocabulary, Tenten.] That's all.

Oh, no, no, a commoner-- [A pause. What!] Ah, what is a "shinobi"? Is that a title?

That's all right, you can make the list later! I don't mind, I am very patient!

Er, sort of. It's what I did before arriving here, we were... soldiers, of sorts. [Eh, it's close enough. She's been trying to figure out how to explain this to people here.] Like the military.

...Like hell I'm making a list. Now or later!

Oh! Soldiers! Ah, but that's fascinating, too! Were you in the middle of a war when you were brought here? Were you marching? They didn't have Jeeps and things where you are from, right? Because if they had blacksmiths then they can't have had motorized vehicles! So you must have marched everywhere, and then had to suffer and endure a thousand blisters!

And--but... but why won't you make a list? Do you not know how to write?

Well, don't worry! I can teach you how! And in the meantime, you can make pictographs!

[Alright, if the assumption that she couldn't write didn't annoy her, the flippant way he spoke about war certainly did, because that was exactly what she had been preparing for before ending up here. Her eyes narrowed.]

There's nothing fascinating about war, my entire world was under attack before I got dragged to this damn city. I should be there.

[Just for good measure, she shakes a fist at the screen.]

AND I CAN WRITE JUST FINE. But you're still not getting a list! I don't have time for this!

Oh, are you busy? So you have found a job! That was very quick--you must be rather efficient! To have participated in a war--quite stridently, from the sounds of it!--and to have found a job within a very short amount of time-- Ah, truly, it is admirable!

But as I said, I don't mind waiting--so take your time! What is it that you have found as work? Perhaps you can write some of it while there!
