It's definitely far enough away or else someone would have eaten it already. And then we might not have a moon.

I don't want that! I like the moon! I don't want someone to eat it! [she looks out the window hurriedly] Then that's not far enough, right? Because Bandersnatch can smell really far, and he'd want to eat it, and I don't want him to eat it.

Don't worry-- it's far enough away that no one's been able to eat it so far, and it's been a very long time already.

Oh, that's true. ... the cheese must be pretty old, too. I don't think even Bandersnatch would eat old cheese.

Then the moon's really safe. You don't have to worry about anyone eating it!

That's good. Because I really like the moon. I want to go there someday, you know? And if someone eats it, then I can't go there anymore.

I'm sure you'll be able to if you really, really want to go there.

But remember to bring a handkerchief just in case it really smells like cheese.

[giggle] I'll bring a spoon too, so I can bring back a bit of the cheese.
