.....O-Oh. I'll trust you, Kairi.... I'd rather not.. you know, become something's snack. I'm uh, only used to dragons. [Heee's pretty bad at acting offensive. Or defensive. Or anything involving physical strength, really. As he's fidgeting, he accidentally hits a button on his NV that turns on the video function.]

There are lots of different dragons... I don't know what they look like here, in your pictures, but I bet you'd like them if you didn't meet one in a bad mood. [He smiles, wondering if she'd like Toothless, then his expression turns wry.] Nightmares can be a little scary. They like to set themselves on fire.

You think so? Everything I know, I learned from Toothless. [There's another little crooked smile but it's quickly gone and the freckle-faced boy looks sadder than before, lonely and lost in his thoughts.] It's a long story.... [He's surprised she even wanted to hear about it. He hadn't even told Astrid everything about Toothless yet... and now he might not ever have the chance to. The boy gives a little shrug, as if to nudge his thoughts back on track. He was conversing.] Well, he's black. Big wingspan. The most noticeable thing is... he's missing a fin on his tail, which means he can't fly by himself.

This place isn't so bad, other than that. There's usually some form of danger no matter where you are, I think.. [ Of course there's the companys and ..oh..OH God. What if they found his dragon? Oh look, face! Here, she'll even flip hers to video too. ]

Next time I go to the library I'll pick up a book on dragons, if it has some pictures; that way the next time I see you or talk to you I can show you. [ She pauses. ] Well...maybe, if they're like you say. I think I'd like to meet a friendly dragon. [ That would be pretty darn cool. ] ... they set themselves on fire? And it doesn't hurt them? [ No wonder your home got burned down a lot! ]

Oh! [ The NV shakes a bit as she jostles it in her haste to grab a piece of paper to note this down. ] Okay ... he can't? [ Awww, poor thing. Don't worry Hiccup, you'll find him! D: Or someone will - hopefully not one of the bad people. ] I guess that happened in one of the viking attacks huh? Is there anything that would draw him out?

That's good to hear--ah! [Hello, redheaded girl. Hiccup blinks at her when her image appears.] I-Is that you? Hi. Nice to see you, Kairi. [Have a friendly, crooked grin.]

Alright. It'd be great to talk dragons with someone willing to listen. [Really great.] Nope, they seem pretty cool with it. Nothing else is safe though. [Generation after generation had to rebuild, actually.]

[Hiccup raises an eyebrow, looking a little inquisitive when she rustles around. Oh, she was writing it down? Her memory must not be too good, or she didn't want to forget. That was awful nice of her. The Viking teen cringes at her mention of an attack hurting the dragon.] It was definitely a Viking's fault.... He.. likes fish a whole lot. And sweet grass. So if there was a place with that... but it's pretty snowy around here.

[ Hello there scrawny boy! Kairi chuckles at the reaction, and waves a bit at the NV screen. ] Nice to see you too, Hiccup.

[ Weird name. But he probably thought her name was weird too. ] Good, then I'll look forward to it. [ In fact, if she got a hold of Namine, maybe she could ask her Nobody to draw a picture of a dragon. ]

Wow. [ Setting themselves on fire and -- well it made sense it wouldn't bother them. Scribbling down the notes just in case she did forget - though frankly she didn't think she'd forget something like this anytime soon, she taps the pen against her lower lip. ]

Well... it's pretty green in the area underground. I know there's a lake that's green all year 'round - I don't know about above ground. Fish and sweet grass, huh? [ ... that seems really weird for a dragon. She'd expected livestock and something meaty. ]

["Kairi" was a weird-sounding name, alright, since the Vikings he knew were pretty much named after actual words. He's happy to be talking to someone like her, though, and his awkward smile shows it.] Me too.

Don't worry though, the dragon I'm looking for doesn't set himself on fire. And even the Nightmares.. I'm sure they're not all bad.

Like.. underground in a cave? And green all year? Wow, I'd like to see that. [He scratches his head. There's a feeling that she doesn't believe that part about the grass and such. He wouldn't have believed it himself, if he hadn't experienced it.] Kinda... hard to believe, I know. You almost have to see it yourself.

[ She is never going to ask what half of those Viking names were. Ever. Her imagination woudl probably come up with a hundred worse things. ]

That's a relief - though I'd have to say it'd probably be easier to find him if he did. Well it's not exactly a cave - it's almost like another city under ground. Only mostly it's just hotels - inns and shops there, I haven't looked around too thoroughly to be honest. I've been pretty busy.

I guess it's all a lot to take in at first, huh? Just take it a little at a time.

Huh. That's.... That sounds really interesting. I'm kind of.. looking forward to seeing everything here, so that's something, at least..... [She said she was pretty busy, didn't she? Hiccup suddenly looks even more awkward.] Am I bothering you? 'cause I could... bother someone else instead. Or walk around. [He gives a small shrug.] Look for dragons.

Huh? Oh no, you aren't bothering me at all. Besides, it's part of my job to see that newcomers are informed and knowledgeable. I'm just lucky enough to enjoy the conversation while I'm doing that.

Oh, rambling, not helping. A-Anyway, if you would show me around some other time, I'd like that a whole lot. Unfortunately, I think I probably should be going somewhere safe before dark.. Like those apart-mints. Strange name for a safe haven..
