Newcomer Assailant Awaiting Trial Escapes
This article is a hastily put-together recap of events that took place last night (the night of the 19th) and early the morning of the 20th.
Sometime during the night after lockdown, a newcomer by the name of Grimmjaw Jaggerjack being held on charges of assault, attempted murder, and property damage escaped from his prison cell without alerting prison security. His cell was found empty the next morning during the first shift change. A thorough search of the room revealed a hole in the concrete wall behind the bed. The hole was cut in a perfect circle, just large enough for a human body to pass through.
The authorities are doing everything in their power to locate the escaped criminal, but the nature of his escape implies to some that an outside party was involved in the jailbreak. An investigation is currently underway.
Other Notes
- Expect a large number of traffic accidents and difficulty in transit - getting to work will be difficult, but most workplaces will excuse call-ins or late arrivals due to the weather.
- An article is being run today about several deaths among the homeless in the slums damaged by the recent earthquake. The article mentions the food and clothing drives going on in the City, and mentions another one that is starting in order to provide a heated tent city for the homeless to provide shelter in the cold.
