[ Greeting, Siren's Port!
Hopefully your night is going well, what with the Christmas season nearing and the rioting starting to calm down.
It's 9:15 on the dot when the smiling faces of Jack and Luca appear on the screen, both tucked comfortably against the pillows of Jack's bed. Luca clutches a papery
green book in both hands. ]
I was gonna read to Jack, 'cause I'm learnin' to read. But Jack said it'd be a good idea if we read to everyone in the city to help them sleep.
[Jack nods indulgently, smoothing the hair down on Luca's head. He looks so proud.] It is! It's good practice, and you get to help other people too.
[ And Luca beams right up at him, opening the book to the first page. ] You'll help if I mess up the words?
Of course, little love. I don't think you'll mess up, though! You're very bright.
[ And with that, Luca begins to read, stumbling over most of the words and --still learning to write his letters, much less read them-- being helped along by Jack more often than not. ]
Goodnight stars. Goodnight air. And goodnight noises, everywhere.
[that last line -- as luca says it, jack brushes a kiss on the top of his head, beaming, before dipping his head to murmur something in luca's ear. They both giggle, and with one last smile: ] Goodnight, Siren's Port! [ The NV clicks off. ]
[ ooc; Green is Jack, Orange is Luca, and black is both! For anyone interested, a reading of the book they read -- Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown-- can be found
here on youtube! ]
