I managed to keep the network working quite smoothly for a while, though I would equate that to being on a higher floor, but I seem to be reduced to text for the time being. In any event, I thought I ought to let everyone who was interested know that I passed the tests, and I go in for my orientation at the beginning of the coming week.
Thank you for your support, and wishes of good luck -- I'm sincerely grateful to everyone who helped me through the last eighteen days. Hopefully my first pay should come before my birthday, which means I'll finally be in a financial position to find my feet here. If anybody knows of an affordable, darkness proof flat, I'd appreciate the tip, though I'm told I can extend my stay here if necessary. The flat would need to be somewhere in Sector 4, but to be quite honest this doesn't seem like the best time to be house hunting.
It's hard to believe that I'm almost nineteen. Or is that twenty-four? Nineteen. I don't feel like five years of my life has been frittered away into the cosmos, but it's certainly a very sobering thought. This will be the first time I've spent the day away from home, and the first birthday I've had to do without my mother's amazing cooking.
On that note, I'd better get back to studying. Near, don't forget that I need those books back by Tuesday. The library I borrowed them from is between here and the police station, so it'll be fine returning them last thing, but please don't forget.
