[VIDEO/ACTION] is that gameplot I smell
[when the video feed starts, it's showing four figures standing tensely, looking grim. the camera takes a moment to adjust itself to the lighting, but once the contrast is adjusted the viewer can see that these figures are Gaara, Neji, Sai, and Alex.
[As soon as the camera is turned on, Sai immediately steps into the dark background, his face hidden in shadow.] It is stupid to record this.
[Hearing that comment, Gaara murmurs quietly in response from the side.] We shouldn’t reveal our identities.
[He remains quiet after that, careful not to move or draw attention to himself, his ANBU training telling him to abandon such a foolish mission, but he remains, unwilling to leave his comrades.]
[There's a hiss at them both to be quiet.] Okay. [the cameraman's voice buzzes close to the microphone; even if he's trying to keep it down, it's hard to not recognize the usually decibel-shattering voice of Naruto.] Listen up, network: The five of us got work to do, and you're gonna watch for anything important. Neji, give us the run-down.
[Neji's frown is prominent, eyeing the camera with apparent skepticism. His voice is low- barely audible even]
You're recording this, Naruto...?
[He doesn't wait for an answer however, shaking his head with apparent disapproval and flexing the papers in his hands, clearing his throat. Here, a few sheets are passed around. A look lingers on Alex before he returns his attention to the sheets he held onto]
These are the scanned blueprints of the first building we'll be infiltrating. They're not perfect, but should work well enough for this procedure.
As determined, we'll be entering through a window on the 16th floor. Since the security is rather lax, our main concern will be the cameras. Alex, I'm leaving it to you to assure those are disabled through whatever means you're capable of. [Just a glance from Alex, who looks irritated as per usual.] I've already gone through and made note of their locations, so it's a simple matter of not falling into their indictated scope.
With Sai's extensive training background and your particular skillset, Kazekage-sama, I'd appreciate if the both of you operated to neutralize the live security on these floors. Positions and patrols are marked. Of course, move as quickly and silently as possible, and it'd be best if none of them saw either of you.
Naruto and I will advance through the offices and search for information, spending no longer than 4 minutes on each floor until we reach the 20th. We'll spend exactly five minutes here, four of that searching for information and the last to coordinate our escape- which is prepared just outside the marked window. I've already secured the route with a number of traps should anyone be followed.
If faced with unexpected conflict before the time limit, signal us on the appropriate channel immediately. At that point, the focus shifts from searching to neutralizing the threat before the situation gets out of hand. Should the operation become compromised at any point, our priority becomes escape.
[Silence for a moment, allowing the information to sink in and his arm falls to his side]
More than anything I want to stress caution, and through this entire operation we'll be moving through the floors together. I don't want any stragglers no matter the circumstance. We'll be spending absolutely no more than 20 minutes inside. After that, regardless of whether or not we find anything, we're leaving. Is that clear?

[During the debriefing period, Gaara lingers in the background, remaining out of sight as he attentively listens with a neutral expression. After the blueprints and assignments are delegated, they set off to enter the building from the sixteenth floor.]
You guys ready?
[The video feed follows them as they all scatter and make their way up the side of SERO Tower. Sai remains quiet. Keeping the task firmly cemented in mind, the Sand ninja turns to glance at his partner, exchanging a look with him.]
[Shuffling, the shinobi plus one slip to the floor and a pale hand sweeps across the feed in an obvious hand signal]
You have your assignments. Do not linger or hesitate. Scatter.
[Silently, they take out the guards without making a noise to alert the rest. They move through the building at a quick pace, each taking a floor, and clearing it within a minute before moving onto the next level. Once their task is complete, they rendezvous on the rooftop. Sai quietly watches Gaara report their success.]
Area cleared. Proceed.
[In the meantime, Naruto reaches over and flips his NV from the back to underside of his wrist, moves to a small cabinet, and bends down to open it. he grabs a small flashlight from somewhere off-screen and holds it in his teeth after switching it on. the lock on the file cabinet is easily picked, and he starts flipping through.]
[It takes a while. Nothing of interest in the first cabinet, or the second, but in the third--]
Wait a minute.
[his eyes are wide as they scan rapidly across the page. he turns as much as he can without taking his eye off what he's reading to call to Neji] Hey, look! This is-- Shit. SERO...they don't have it. The Core is-- [and he stares at the answer but says nothing. that's when there's a crashing noise from another room, and his head snaps up, shutting the file and replacing it before closing the cabinet door. Naruto gets up and starts to head for the door--]
Naruto! We're leaving immediately. Armed personnel are- ..!
[Even as the Sai and Gaara remain at their meeting point, they continue to examine the floors, one by one, using their respective abilities.]
...?
[Upon acknowledging Neji’s cry of alarm, Gaara immediately snaps to attention. Evidently, reinforcements were just dispatched.
With a stern expression, he coolly commands.] Sai, let’s go.
[The sudden exuberance of noise was enough for the ROOT ninja to realize they'd been found out. Sai turned to Gaara, nodding at the other as they move out. The two swiftly descend back into the building.]
[A noise of surprise and some pain, a shuttered breath before a crash]
That's impossible, I couldn't see...
[Alex would normally have just slaughtered whoever just came in now, but...he can't. So he just stands there looking completely bewildered, before his default emotion: utterly pissed.]
NEJI! What happe-- Fuck!
[at this point, the video is CHAOS. the camera is whizzing madly until the viewer has probably lost all sense of gravity; Naruto is fighting a lot of goons going by the noises; if there were any intelligible glimpses of the others, it would show them holding their own as well. A flash of white, an authoritative voice drowning in chaos-
...except something's wrong. why aren't any of them doing anything beyond hand-to-hand? surely--]

[A single sharp gasp is uttered just then, followed by distinct thudding noises in the background.]
No...! [Communication from Gaara’s NV is suddenly cut.]
Kaiten...!
[The sound of a short sword being drawn is heard. Metal clashes against metal, and more noises of combat are heard before the rapid thud of a dozen footsteps are heard just as the door is slammed open. The sound of scuffling, and furniture being overthrown is heard, then---]
Shit, can't use--?!
[there's a sickening crunching THUD and a pained OOF, and the camera spins downward and stops when its owner hits the floor. Naruto must be pretty dazed; it takes him a moment to stir or make a noise. but as many hands grab at Naruto and his NV, he manages to hoarsely yell out:]
SERO doesn't have it! The lake--!!
[and the feed dies.]
