Bloody Pumpkins Horrify Hawthorne University

This article is a report on a strange event that happened at last night's annual Jack'O'Lantern Carving Contest at AGI's Hawthorne University. What began as an enjoyable routine event finished in fear as the pumpkins all began bleeding upon contact with the knives.

"It was like nothing I'd ever seen before," said Julia Gulia, 20, current president of the Hawthorne University Activities Board. "I was demonstrating common pumpkin-carving tactics--I put my knife into the pumpkin--and suddenly, there was blood everywhere. It was horrifying."

Every other student in attendance reported the same phenomenon. Each time a pumpkin received a cut, blood spurted everywhere. "It was pretty horrifying," said Travis Fishburn, 19. "I'm a tough guy, but I think I'm going to have nightmares. My pumpkin was huge, dude, and there was so much blood...." The psychological recourse can of course only be guessed at--never mind the biological implications. Some students professed interest in testing the pumpkins, to see what it was that had caused them to bleed--but most only wanted the incident to be over.

"I don't want to think about it any more," Gulia concluded. "I don't think I'll ever carve a pumpkin again. And my shirt was ruined."

No conclusions were drawn, and many suspect this to have been a prank of some sort--though how the prank was actually conducted is a mystery.

Food Poisoning Scare Closes Down White Star

This is a report on last night's food poisoning scare that shut down the kitchens of White Star Hotel in the Underground Mall. The report states that after several kitchen staff and customers came down sick with symptoms of loss of appetite, bleeding, and mild hallucinations, the Head Chef of the kitchen shut it down for an emergency investigation.

The investigation turned up nothing suspect in the food at the White Star, nor the conditions of food preparation - everything in the kitchen was deemed high above health inspection standards, and no infection or spoiling was noted in the food at White Star. The sufferers of the strange disease or ailment that befell people associated with the hotel kitchen were taken to hospital and treated, but the source of the ailment hasn't yet been found.

The closure severely affected White Star's income throughout the day and in the weeks to come, as several reservations were pulled, leaving many spots empty for those who wish to risk eating there after this incident. A health inspector was quoted as saying "It beats me, there's nothing at all wrong here - the kitchen is impeccable, and I'd offer it as an example for anyone wanting to pass health inspection."

White Star is offering discounts on reservations to fill the spots that have emptied out, and is contributing several free dinners and White Star experiences at heavily discounted prices to attract renewed customer interest.

Haunted House In Sector 4 Opens Tomorrow!

This is a quick blurb on something that everyone's probably seen on flyers throughout the City - the blurb on the Haunted House that will be opening October 28 and 29th. This haunted house is said to be hosted in a vacant four-story apartment building slated to be torn down to make way for some low-income housing. Before the tearing down happens, though, a team of neutral people decided to make the building into a nice, realistic, and fun-for-the-whole-family Haunted House.

The reporter goes on to mention that the first two floors are all-ages, with children being allowed to enter, and will be less scary. The third floor is moderately scary, and intended for teenagers and young adults. The fourth floor is rumoured to be ultimately realistically terrifying, with gore and violence galore, and that there will be a prize for the first four people who can make it through this floor without being scared. The prize will be a $50 gift certificate to the Underground Mall, accepted by all shops, hotels, clubs, and restaurants, including North Point Carnival Grounds, Hideaway Lake, and Felton Theatrical Stage.

The Haunted House will be open from 3 pm until morning sirens on both days, with the time between 3 pm and evening sirens being more geared towards children and kids' attractions, and the time after sirens being more dedicated to teens and adults, with scarier costumes and emphasis on the top two floors. Sleeping accommodations will be provided, and the apartment building is completely Darkness-proofed to allow all-night attendance.

Ticket prices are $10 per person, $5 for kids under 12 and seniors over 55.
