[Vanille's sitting out on a balcony of an apartment building, enjoying the clear skies] I guess it's really true about so many new people coming all at once now and then. If you're new, I hope you're doing well. Actually, if you're old--I mean, um, experienced?--I hope you're doing well too! It's a dangerous city sometimes but there are so many wonderful people here who work hard to make it safe and good. It seems like you can always find help if you need it. Even though I can't be with my friends, I feel really lucky to be in a place like this.

It's strange when a friend comes here, isn't it? Like...happy and sad at the same time, because you know you shouldn't wish they were here, but it's so good to see them. I wonder how the me back home is doing with everyone else. Hope said he just saw her, and I've been here almost two months... [she puts a hand over her left thigh] And it hasn't changed at all.
