Burrrrrrrrrrrr! It's so COLD! I've never lived someplace where it got all cold before! [Maybe she would be warmer if she wasn't wearing a bikini and miniskirt, but who's counting.]

Anybody know where I'd go about finding a coat? Not a big ol' heavy one, but a - well, I could need a big ol' heavy one for when it starts snowing, but I guess since it's ( Read more... )

[Captain Shirtless over here does not approve of your failure to tolerate the cold.]

There are some clothing stores in Sector 4 that supply coats, among other things. If you just want something warm but light, I advise you ask them about jackets or bodywarmers.

[Captain Shirtless probably didn't grow up in a desert.]

Okay! I'll look into that. ...but what's a bodywarmer?

[He lived in one for several years. And then went shirtless in Alaska a couple of years afterwards.]

It's a type of sleeveless jacket made of a light but very comfortable and warm material.

[That makes no sense, sir! But neither does running around on Mt. Gagazet in a bikini.]

What's the point if it doesn't got any sleeves?

[Possible explanations: He learnt to resist extreme temperatures in the SAS, he had the ability to feel cold removed genetically, nanomachines, or "to hell with it, it's MGS, none of it makes sense ANYWAY".]

You'd be surprised how warm they keep you even without them.

[Yes. Likely. More than likely. BEST ANSWER. I think the same thing goes with every FF world ever. If no one complains about chafing in those costumes, it's a lie.]

But my arms would still get all cold! And what would I wear over it to match? Because it doesn't sound like a vest or anything.

It's a jacket, madam. You wear it over whatever you're wearing. Usually it's advised to wear a thin long-sleeved shirt underneath, but it's not entirely necessary.

No, it's a vest, then!

[Sigh.]

Look. I'm British. Or at least I was raised there. To me, it's a bodywarmer.

Hey, I know somebody from British! But I'm pretty sure he's calls 'em vests, too.

[He wants to hit his head against a wall until that goes away.]

No. Being British means I was raised in England. A vest goes underneath your clothing.

...so, British people are from England? That doesn't make any sense at all! And why would a vest go under anything? What'd be the point then?

England is also known as "Britain". And a vest, in British terms, is a thin, slim-strapped article of clothing that goes beneath everything else for two purposes - first, to keep you warm without being obvious, and secondly, to prevent the material of your clothes from harming your skin.

Why can't it just decide on one name and keep it that way? If you're all British, then it should be known as Britain! I mean, if it was England, then you'd all be English or something, and that's a language! ...but I guess that'd make more sense.

Wait! Why would you wear clothes that could hurt you?

...we are also known as the English. [Sigh.] In fact, the language originated in England.

Some people are allergic, or simply wear clothes with scratchy materials.

I don't think we've covered this in history yet...

How could you be allergic to your own clothes? Why would you wear clothes you're allergic to!? And you shouldn't ever wear anything unless it's comfy!
