[Amy seems to be in her room with a mess of open magazines for young teenage girls on her bed. Dressed in a simple frock, she seems a little uneasy-- maybe unsure. Of course, how could she not be unsure when everyone else was being far too worried about bigger things while, here she was-- Amy Sorel. 14 years old (or was it 15 yet?) and... simply wanting to look her best for someone she wanted to impress.]
I don't get the standards of beauty for this day and age. The corset is gone, and people seem to be more interested in doing these strange exercises to get rid of excess weight. And... there are too many products for the face and the hair... and even the body. So many strange tastes.
But it seems that those who are able to follow are able to catch attention. Like those girls with their rouged faces who walk through the halls of school in groups. Everyone's heads turn when they pass.
