Does anyone know a decent locksmith or something?  Either the locks on my door are that old or somebody's been breaking into my place the last few nights. And I KNOW I didn't misplace all the alcohol I got. I'm not kidding, that's the only thing that's gone.

Maybe I should be grateful all I can afford is cheap wine.

I know a good thief who can tell ya if your door's gettin' busted into.

So to catch a booze thief I get another thief?

She's a lot less likely to steal your stuff.

Hey, at least all they're grabbing is alcohol, could've been worse.

I know, I know... doesn't mean I'm gonna let anyone break into my house period. Better call the police in the morning, I guess...

Why don't you let me check it out for you before you go through all that hassle?

Someone's been breaking into your premises for the sole purpose of stealing your alcohol?

It sounds just as weird to me as it does you, I know. [Actually, she's just guessing here.] I looked around my apartment. Besides things that have been moved around? That's the only thing that's gone.

Please don't tell me it's something like ghosts. Alcoholic ghosts.

Alcoholic ghosts. [She snorts.] That seems rather ridiculous, even for this place.

What other items have been moved around?

[She gives a snort back.] With everything that's happened? I wouldn't be suprised if there was a bridge monster.

Little stuff. TV control, maybe a magazine or two I had lying around, things in my bathroom cabinet... like someone was looking around.

Huh. It seems a bit counter-intuitive to steal bad wine. [PLEASE EXCUSE HIM HE'S FRENCH.]

I don't mean to imply anything, but, is there a possibility the thief's someone known to you? It seems like it would probably have to be someone who knew you kept alcohol on the premises, and the times you wouldn't be at home.

You're wondering the same thing I am.

If that's the case, I could only list a couple people. And... [OBVIOUSLY HESITATING.] ... I'm PRETTY sure wouldn't have done it. [THOUGH EVEN IF SHE'S NOT SAYING IT OUTLOUD SHE HAS A POSSIBLE SUSPECT IN MIND.]

[skeptical]

But 'pretty sure' isn't the same as 'completely sure'.

Maybe you could shield it or something until the locksmith comes? I know a protect spell if that would help!

A 'protect' spell?

Yeah! It's exactly what it sounds like!

Uh--sure?

Maybe in a few days, I'm starting to get ideas of my own.
