[The video screen suddenly flickers on as a little girl's smiling face pops up on the other side of the metaphorical looking glass. Grinning into it, she does a little wave, all smiles.]
I'm going to ask a question! [And she proclaims this loudly, proudly, as though she were the inventor of the 'question' and of the action known as 'asking'. Then, a contemplative pause, and she places the hand which she isn't using to hold up the device on her chin.] Oh, but before I ask, you all have to know what a duck is! And since some of you might not know what a duck is, then I'm going to have to show you! So you have to watch real carefully, okay?
[Suspenseful pause! Suddenly, the screen whirls to the view of a man-made pond of a sorts, in which several mallards are drifting peacefully on the surface. She giggles from off-screen.]
And that's a duck! It's very important, okay? Because here's my question--
[And suddenly, there is a blur of a throwing knife coming from off-screen, and a duck stops mid-water and promptly sinks. A whistle, and another blur, this time of the black variety, shoots off as though running on water, dips into the water, shoots back, and the camera screen tilts downwards.
Lo, and behold, a very dead duck with a knife embedded into its head lying by her foot. There is a whine of a dog, but you can disregard that. Her voice is amused.]
So, this duck is dead, right?
Well, then, if it's dead, can you still call it a 'duck'?
[A giggle, and she whistles again. A black snout sniffs at the duck as though in curiosity, and she laughs.] Okay, I'm done with the duck, Bandersnatch. You can eat it.
[When the black blur sets itself upon the corpse of the duck, her fingers crawl onto the screen, and she grips in a nonchalant manner, singing a little ditty to herself.]

Here I am, here I am ♪!
How are you today ♪?
Very well, thank you ♪.
Go away, go away ♪.
