A power would not enable me to do my job any more effectively; as such, I'd have no use for one

It seems unlikely that desire has anything to do with it. I know of a number of individuals within the city whose powers are more of a burden upon them than an advantage. If they were able to will them away, then they would.

And I was asking, rather, whether you have one, but if you do not then that can be the question.

Any number of powers. I've heard of one individual who emitted radiation from his skin and was executed as a safety measure. Another drained all the air from the room in a moment of panic and ended up killing himself that way. There are a number of other similar stories.
