The video then is turned away from her, steadily, and films for a precise three seconds a patch of ground two meters away. The camera is then turned back, this time slightly further back, allowing a woman to be revealed, curled blonde hair loose and untidy about her face

Impossible. Forces beyond a human's ability to deal with keep us here, yourself included. If you were brought here, you'll not leave for quite a bit. You can probably already feel it, that light buzzing in your head, like background noise you can't find the source of.

Some of us have unique abilities, some are given them upon arrival. By the same force that took us.

Hard to explain something I've never studied. All I know is that this world isn't mine.

I didn't ask for a paper on it, only an explanation. It isn't 1964.

No, it isn't. You're in an isolated island off the coast of a country called Canada. A self-contained nation of its own, almost.

Yes. Siren's Pull. An apt name, I suppose, seeing how it draws others in so well. The year is 2010, by this world's time scale.

[Admit her name here? She could. Except she's supposed to have died a traitor, and it could turn sour on her. It's best to be careful; test the water and see how things go. Names and codenames aren't the same thing...and Sir Crocodile sounds like a codename too.]

My name is Allegria. As such I would appreciate it if you not address me as 'woman'.

Very well, Allegria. Do you possess any super-human abilities? Surely, you must.

I must? Why would you say that?

It's all part of the way this place works. No one I've seen has come here and not been gifted with an ability.
