Been so busy I forgot to say anything on the network about the film contest! Oh- if anyone doesn't know by now,Swept Away won. Not bad for a second shot at making a good video. Now people can recognize me as 'that kid who was a film festival director' and not just 'that kid who made the dumb countdown movie'.

I attended for a short period of time- long enough to watch the films.

Not particularly. While I could grasp the purpose and intended message of them, it's apparent our collective skills with this level of technology and film-making aren't likely to be up to local standards.

The more sentimental might have understood, but the stubborn will remain that way and pick out those flaws with their own justification. We'll see if the festival has any impact on the rift between both parties, but I doubt it'll be significant.

The festival was a good effort toward improving relations, and it's possible the mindset of those here are more receptive to what I'm accustomed to. Those were simply my own observations.
