Well! They're certainly giving those out to just about anyone these days, aren't they. Think I might've seen a little rat wearing one just a bit ago, so you're certainly in good and fitting company.

Only it's a bit disappointing that they didn't give you your own office, wouldn't you say.

[Oh, funny. 8\]

Maybe they wanted a snake to kill off the rats. [A short sound, somewhere between amusement and irritation.] It's their problem, either way.

Then they'll have to look elsewhere, won't they, because I certainly haven't seen any snakes about. Just titchy fellows like yourself. Seems a bit daft, to hire on a new officer when there's apparently a problem with overstaffing.

I don't care what they do, just as long as it means they leave me alone.

Oh, come now. That's not what you want. Isn't the point of this to not be left alone? Else why would you have made this delightful little broadcast?

Know which bit of it, precisely? The uniform bit or the standing-about-in-his-office bit? If it's the latter, it'd seem as if the former would give you something better to occupy your time.

[Headtilt.]

Mm... Maybe both. Mostly I thought he'd like to know how close I'll be working now.

Most people send a card, or a fruit basket. It's lovely to see that even you stupid little bastards employ a more personal touch around here. Really gives the feeling of sincerity. Only aren't police officers supposed to capture criminals? Perhaps they'll sack you before you even begin at it.

I could always have surprised him in person.

Not bored of that yet, are you? Honestly. Then they really will sack you, and that uniform of yours will look even stupider. You haven't any civility or common sense at all.

[A laugh.] Then I guess he'd better be grateful for the warning this time. Don't you think so?

Oh, you have manners now. Is that something they taught you when they inducted you into the service? No, hang on, you little idiots don't seem quite capable of learning anything of that sort, it's too much to hope for.
