accidental video
[Those with motion sickness might want to turn away as the screen flicks on by itself. Half of it is black and blurry on the edge, presumably obscured by the fold of a pocket. The other half is completely sideways, and the video shakes continuously. All that can be made out is the rapid blur of a dark street, and glimpses of the back of a skinny gray horse's head bobbing with waving mane. The quick clop of hooves indicates that the horse is galloping full-tilt.]
[Suddenly, the horse screams and drops out of picture. There's a manly yelp, a rustle, some thumps, and the video spins again, glimpsing sky before settling and aiming in a new direction... at a pack of over a dozen bloody Rotgut Kittens and one torn-up Rotgut Cougar. A few are on top of the dying horse, tearing into the poor beast. The rest are still advancing.]
[A man's arm swings into view, holding a shotgun with one hand. Two shots blast apart two of the kittens, and a third shot misses. The nearest kitten that avoided the shot leaps forward, causing the screen to blur with movement as the owner of the device dodges.]
You goddamn ugly critters!
[The view changes direction again. The man is running as fast as he can, gasping for breath. The view on the monitor comes close to a brick wall as he grabs a ledge and begins pulling himself up, climbing... it jerks briefly with the simultaneous sounds of growling and tearing and the man's swearing grunt of pain, but then resumes scrolling up.]
[Then, once more, all that can be seen is sky. He's reached the roof, and the yowls of the monster cats sound distant, still on the ground. He's safe for a few minutes... the monsters that fly aren't in the area quite yet.]
...What the hell is going on here...
