[ The NV clicks on for a view of Katara sitting lotus position on the floor, limited to no furnishings visible around her. She's fanning herself though, and looks absolutely disgusted

Nice to meet you, Katara. As you might have seen, there's a few members of our group that aren't very pleased with the idea of dance lessons. I know that having you there will be beneficial. Seeing someone else who actually wishes to learn should inspire them.
[Making new acquaintances is always a good thing. Especially any that can help.]
Yeah, I thought I saw something like that. I guess they aren't up to the challenge of something that requires strength, stamina and coordination. I guess they think dancing is for girls or something?
Yes, they do in fact. Though I can't imagine why, considering most women tend to dance with men. I'm not sure they think of where those men might have learned to dance.
That's ridiculous. So basically they're scared. And when you think about it, if they don't learn how to dance they're going to get laughed at by the ones that do know how. Half the fun of dancing is being able to do so with others anyway.
[Oh, this girl gets her. This is exactly what she was thinking.]
You're absolutely right. I should have you talk to them, they might listen to an outside perspective. Though if things keep up this way, I might need to get more then just one outside perspective.
That's a thought. I might as well, seeing as they all can be rather prideful.
[Pauses, thinking a moment.] I suppose it's because, and really I only know two of them the best, but back home, there's not a lot of dancing done in the type of life that they had before I met them, and even afterward as well.
There isn't a lot of dancing where I'm from either - at least, not a lot of call for it. [ Snow and ice doesn't make for the best dance floor. ] But I guess I can see where they're coming from. My brother would probably react the same way.
I may be a little old fashioned when it comes to such things; I was taught all the possible etiquette needed for such a life from an early age. But I still find it to be fun.
Well, if you don't mind my asking, what sort of upbringing did you have that actually seemed to require that sort of etiquette. [ She must have had some kind of privileged life right? ]
My family is the head of a large company in Japan that has business ventures throughout the world. I did have a rather privileged lifestyle growing up, and was I was taught everything I would need to know to take over the business since I was young, which also included traveling in some rather distinct social circles.
[ A pause to mull over this information. ] You must have had a lot of responsibilities if you were to take over something like that. We don't have that sort of thing back home. Being here, I suppose it's nice to experience different things, huh? Without the pressures from home.
[ ... she still wanted to go back though. Everyone did, didn't they? (except maybe Azula, since she'd go right back into jail) ]

[ A pause. ] Honestly, I don't get what's so threatening about it.
