001: [Video] (Sorry this took so long to post)

Aug 08, 2010 13:04

[As the video flips on, an almost worm's eye view of Ivy can be seen, lit by the faint light of dawn.  As she tilted her head down, towards the camera, a hint of confusion can be read in her expression. It was odd indeed seeing a seemingly regular cellphone just lying there on a short tree stump, loosely tied upon it with vines, after all. ( Read more... )

[with being so in tune with nature, the face that appears is a side-ways wolf, ears flickering forward and back nervously, a bit hesitant.]

There's... a lot of those creatures around, though they only appear during the night. But, uh-- are you alright?

[Ivy was a little caught off-guard at first, by a wolf speaking to her...but then remembered that she was the person who typically spoke with plants. This shouldn't be so strange.]

Only at night? [She would have to be more careful then.]

I'm fine. But if you don't mind me asking...what are you, exactly? It's not every day that I speak with wolves.

Mhm. From siren to siren.

[a blink, pull back. quick,] You can se--? [and a stop. well. she did seem... nature-y. after a bout of internal debating and wrestling off confusion:]

I'm... just one. So, you've - seen other wolves before? They didn't talk? [that was where the strangeness came in for Toboe.]

So no creatures during the day? It's a bit of a relief, I suppose. Daytime is the best time for a plant to recuperate.

Really? [So wolves were normally supposed to talk? No, that was nonsense. This was most likely something from another planet. She seemed to be running into a lot of aliens today.] I wouldn't say that they're a common sight, but it's no means a surprise to see a wolf where I'm from. Though they're typically kept in a zoo.

But no, to answer your question, one would be called absurd to even suggest they could speak with wolves. I speak with plants on a day-to-day basis, but I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've spoken with a non-humanoid animal.

Are you a plant? [small head tilt, a bit further wariness. but not disbelieving.]

...

-- A zoo? In cages? Why? Is there something wrong with the wilderness--? [ah, distress and rapid fire questions. common.]

It's - more normal to talk with plants? Or... 'Humanoid animals?'

I'm neither plant nor human, but rather something in between. However, these days I'm far closer to plant.

I do not approve of the detainment myself, but it's wiser to fight one battle at a time. The alarming rate of which the forested areas were disappearing in my town was the more concerning issue to me.

[She shook her head.] No, it's only because of my given abilities that I'm able to converse with plants. And I suppose even the term "humanoid animal" is inappropriate for the person I'm thinking of. He was just merely a man who resembled a crocodile.

egh egh egh I'm sorry this is so late. elderyouth August 12 2010, 07:32:53 UTC
I-- oh. Oh, ah, - [detainment. no, he couldn't just write that off. but she...] ... That's a good choice. Picking your battles. So you could make good headway. One way or, um, another.

[a pause. looking back up, hesitant.]

How does he resemble one if he isn't one?

It's okay things like that happen! /cool with backtagging tokissity August 12 2010, 07:46:30 UTC
It's sad, but it's a battle that seems to go nowhere. I once look an entire barren island and turned it into a tropical paradise. However, it only literally went down in flames as a company found the island suitable for testing bombs on.

Before I can fight to release the animals, I have to make sure that they can roam in a land worth being in. But yet, the greed of the humans prevents that. They won't stop until there's no plants left, at this rate.
