[The sea's foaming up, dashing so violently into the rocks like it wants to merge and blend into the shore. The pull is so strong here it's physically painful, but Sasuke remains there, with pale arms slung over his knees and his chin braced down, hunkered there while the wind snatches at his hair and clothes.

All around him is an outline of ashes.

[His pause is to long. Subdued and numb.]

.... yeah.

Help's on the way already, but... Is there anything you need?

[switch_it_off]

[He dazedly shakes his head, just once. He doesn't look like he's fully comprehending, just yet, where he is. What's happening. Who's speaking to him and why.]

[He really knows the feeling.]

You're gonna be okay.

[switch_it_off]

[Not a good feeling. Not a good feeling at all. His eyelashes flinch at the reassurance before he nods jerkily, as if Shikamaru had posed it as a question.]

[Silence now, but he's keeping an eye on Sasuke until Itachi gets there.]

[He doesn't do anything dramatic like curl into a ball. He's not even shaking -- much. He's just staring vacantly out at the water, blinking every so often when his eyes start stinging from the lack. It's damned unhealthy.]
