[The NV sits open in his lap as he holds his gnome at his side, lightly petting its head. Shushing the creature as it continued to moan softly of its pain. It was still weakened from the battle which they had lost. His head gave a slight tilt, as he stared at what appeared only to be a book to him.]

Empty pages? [Pause, then instant surprise.] No ( Read more... )

[Liquid, on the other hand, is sitting on the edge of a roof, the NV in his hand. There are bandages over a few parts of his body, but he seems to be unaffected by any pain.]

You are not in Hell, stranger, nor any version of the afterlife. Read back your own sins. That is not our duty nor desire.

[The last part... he'll just be ignoring. That's more Ocelot's line of work.]

[A soft noise, before smiling sweetly.]

Is that true? Is that how it is? You wouldn't lie to me, would you? Am I really allowed to breathe this air? Given a second chance of life? Is that what you are saying? [A slight tilt of the head as his hair falls over his face in doing so, still slightly bloodied from the battle he lost.]

It appears so. Even the shadows are given life in this place.

[By which he means himself, not just the monsters.]

Everyone lies, but this is the truth. You have been granted life anew, so it seems.

Even shadows? Am I not allowed to shine brightly here? [Either.]

I wonder what I had done to be given such an honor. Could everything I did be rewarded, because I did it for the greater good? You believe me, don't you? I was doing everything for someone else.

[There is a orange haired pirate on your video now.]

I would think only you would know your sins.

Hm. I cannot escape your kind anywhere I go.

[A pause, brow raaaise. Her kind? Pirates? Huh, she looked down at herself... she's at work at the other place and dressed strangely as it were but]

Excuse me?

[A finger scratches at the zipper in his head, watching the video]

If you know where you are then you should know they don't... flay people here... I think...

[A pause and then...] You have... a companion with you?

Perhaps not. Perhaps, no one wants to touch this skin of mine.

[A pause, and smile. What is on his head?]

I do. He's my constant companion, even in death.

I don't think it has anything to do with touching you. If anything they'll just burn you with a snap of fiery fingers. [Slight annoyance. He's ran into a pyromancer]

He would follow you to death?

That is rather lazy and impersonal. I am no witch.

Yes. He's here, after all.

This is, in point of fact, Canada, not Hell. You may wish to look into securing lodgings, rather than going on about eternal damnation.

Canada? What is Canada? I heard this was Siren's Port.

Mm, I had heard that there are monsters in the darkness. Men that wear kind faces and creatures that devour flesh.

The city is called Siren's Port; it is located off the coast of the country of Canada. And yes, there are such creatures which come out after nightfall, and some of them are indeed humanoid; you would do well to avoid them.

I see. So this land is called Canada. I see. It's hardly fitting. Shouldn't it be given a name to accent its appearance? Honestly, it seems like the Land of the Gods ... so pristine and sparkling ... everything is ... I've never seen anything like what is here.

And I was not talking just of those creatures after nightfall.

I'll do it! The reading one, I mean; flaying people is too messy, isn't it. What's wrong with your little friend there?

I suppose. Go ahead and start.

[A light pat to the creature's head.] He's lamenting a lost battle and crying over his injuries. This little one fought very hard, but ... there is no but ... he did marvelously.

I don't have them here, you'll have to give me a moment to go and find the proper book. Well, books, really, in the plural sense, you've an awful lot of sins to read out. Such a busy fellow!

Ah, tragic. If he's injured, you'll soon have twenty people suggesting you cart him down to the hospital, y'know.

Hm. I suppose that is true. If you consider them sins.

I want him nowhere near such a place. [Touches the dear pact-partner's face.] They will ruin him with illness.
