[Brooke can be seen drinking tea at a table much like the first time they met.]

You know it's quite possible that the monsters are of the nature that the sunlight hurts them. Or perhaps they are merely nocturnal. They may have some sort of places in the poorer districts of the city where they hide out during the day.

[Mm tea. Neji glances up, considering something. Probably tea.]

Yes, it's a sensible conclusion- though I imagine attempts have been made to test it. I wonder the result. If any lingered in the daytime and hid away, that would make things interesting.

Although quite dangerous for those who might think they are safe during the day time. I wonder if some of the larger ones might even burrow underground during the day and were very good about covering their holes. It would explain how they 'disappear' during the day.

Naturally. And it would certainly explain a bit, though it would be strange that I haven't detected them yet.

Thank you! :D tapdancinskelly July 20 2010, 02:15:43 UTC
Are you usually good at detecting such things? I'd imagine they'd be tricky to detect if they were underground, or staying in a part of the city that's not used that often.

Usually- though things in this world do differ from what I'm accustomed to. I'll search more thoroughly next time I'm running a sweep through an area.

I am a bit curious as to what you will do if you do discover the location of some of the hidden monsters. Do you intend to fight them perhaps while they are vulnerable? Or perhaps simply report your findings?

If I find them burrowed, I'd observe their behaviour as the sun fell from a respectable distance. If the information would be suited for the well-being of the island, then I may report my observations, but it's unlikely that it would be conclusive about much.

And if the monster spotted you and attacks?

[A skeptical look. Wouldn't that be interesting]

I'd manage.

Seems a little vague, but I suppose that's what I get for asking an indirect question. I was wondering if you were perhaps trained in methods of dealing with such beings.

Do they require certain techniques? I'm well-trained in tai- [He cuts himself off with a frown] hand-to-hand combat as well as versed in the basic utilization of a number of weapons. It's been enough so far in my brief encounters with them.

Oh no, I'm quite capable of handling myself, I was just curious about you. I was pretty certain that there was more to your abilities than meets the eyes, but wait, I haven't got any eyes! Skull Joke! Yohohoho!

Perception doesn't seem to mean too much in this world regardless.
