Something else. The creatures don't seem to have a type of pattern in that sense, from what I've observed of them so far.

It's been suggested that the stronger ones may linger near the Core, if that is indeed their source. Idle speculation, I think. Do you have a "something else" in mind?

That's interesting to note regardless. As for other considerations, it was a means of tracking in my world, but obviously this is somewhat different. Still, I've observed abnormalities that seemed to conform to it in a looser sense.

This tracking is an "ability"? And what sort of abnormalities do you refer to?

Not quite. It's simply that it's traceable. Abnormalities that are believed to originate from the Core- primarily those inflicted upon individuals that gain inexplicable abilities.
