Lingering Effects of Quake Almost Finished
Though there is still a sense of loss for the people of Siren's Port following the quake that left many people's lives and businesses a wreck, it seems like, for the most part, the city has recovered. The last of the repairs to the various aspects of the public transportation system were finished this week, and at this point the writer detours into an almost childish moment of commenting that many believed that it would take longer while some (likely the writer themselves) maintained hope.
It takes about two more paragraphs for them to get totally back on topic, but when they do they launch right into the effect the quake had on the economics of the city. There are a few quotes from experts saying how things should get right back on track as businesses who were severely damaged are finally operating again. There is some talk about how there are still buildings in need of being demolished to make up for the structural issues that the quake caused, and still many businesses that need money to reopen or to even begin repairs.
Overall, the article seems almost ridiculously hopeful considering the normal tone of things.
Hardware Store Shows its True Colors
Earlier this month Patty's Paint and Primer, a local hardware store located in sector four had a major shipment error that caused them to be massively overstocked with paint. After some deliberation, the owner George Mason, son of Patty Mason who started the store, decided to give the extra paint to local groups.
Several local charities will be receiving this, including the newcomer towers, two of the local groups rebuilding the area after the earthquake, and the church of Jonova.
"I just couldn't think of anything else to do with it," Said Mr. Mason. "And when Jacob said I should give it to people I said....eh. Sure."
They are all set to get the paint this Friday.
[OOC:What this means for you! A lot of mismatched, mislabeled paint cans will be showing up in the lobby of the building tomorrow morning, being a regular nuisance and blocking people's way. There aren't a lot of matching sets or useful colors in the bunch, but feel free to grab some, if you live in the building or not, at your own risk and have fun!]
