[A figure stands out at the docks, at the very edge, a silhouette against the horizon his eyes are glued to. He has been in this spot for hours without so much as a twitch of movement from him. The breeze ruffles through Ace's dark hair while the sun highlights the pale, tattooless skin of his back - he's not wearing a shirt today. The salty smell of the sea, normally a comfort to him, did nothing to ease the emotions roiling inside of the teenage pirate.
His little brother was gone.
Without a trace, Luffy had disappeared. Though nearly a decade later and in an entirely different setting, the situation was painfully familiar. Sabo.....
Ace was not sure what to believe had happened to Luffy.. Had he been killed? Was he lost somewhere? Or had he returned home like most of the pirates were hoping? Regardless of the answer, the fact remained that Luffy had not been seen in much too long, and the worst part was that Ace selfishly didn't want the boy returning to their world. Not alone. He knew what waited for Luffy on the battlefield the younger D had been pulled from; Marco had told Ace how horrible it had been, with Luffy's strenuous injuries and the outcome of the war. Both of them had already lost a brother once. Luffy did not need to go through that again, especially when he was alone. The thought of it physically hurt and something inside of Ace snapped.
Throwing back his head, the pirate screams at the sky, letting all of his anger and sorrow well up in the sound around him and be carried across the expanse of water far, far away. The wordless, pained howl stretches on until he has no more breath for it, leaving Ace panting with his clenched fists shaking at his sides. He remains at the dock for some time more, head down-tilted with his hair casting a shadow over his face.]
[Hours pass before Ace appears on the network. His voice and expression are both forced cheerful, though his heart is broken. He'd make sure the crew was taken care of in their captain's absence.]
Yo, Straw Hats.. We're going to Club24 tonight for drinks, alright? All of you. I won't take no for an answer!
[After a significantly long pause, a little seriousness returns.] Marco. We need to talk.
((ooc: if you REALLY want to witness Ace's outburst at the docks, go ahead, but you probably won't want to disturb him unless your character is overly concerned or lacks the ability to read emotions in another. sorry for the angst and the cast-centered post, guys.))
