I have found this dog. Does it belong to anyone?

[Here, Castiel holds up a small brown puppy by the scruff of its neck in front of the camera. Said puppy simply dangles in his hold and does not seem very comfortable being handled as such. But doesn't really do anything to get away either ( Read more... )

Kakashi was in the office, doing some paperwork when this broadcast popped up. ]

You know, there are better ways to hold dogs.

This dog does not belong to you. It shall remain in my custody.

[The video shifts and Castiel actually takes the dog indoors, towards the bunk room and stares at it some more, holding it up at eye level.]

[ Kakashi doesn't bother replying anymore on the NV. He puts down the paperwork he was doing and heads out of the office, leaning against the door of what has essentially become Castiel's room. It appears Castiel has put the puppy down, as it is now sprawled over his shoes.

Kakashi chuckles a little at the sight of the poor thing. It looks tired. Maybe a little hungry. He walks over to the dog, and crouches down. ]

Where did you find him?

[ He reaches a hand out and gently strokes the puppy's head. ]

[While the dog remains plopped over Castiel's shoes (and probably liking the attention), Castiel remains standing there, pokerfaced, stoic, like a lamppost, looking at the dog and his employer on the floor before him.]

Backdoor. Second step. It would not go away after I told it to. I was about to take some of your eggs to feed it. Sirius has suggested it.

Ah, that wouldn't be a good idea. It would make this fellow here sick.

[ Kakashi picks up the puppy now, and cradles him with an arm, scratching behind an ear. He's not sure of the breed. Some kind of a cross or a mutt, it seems. The puppy quietly whines and noses at Kakashi's arm. ]

Puppies can't just eat anything. They require a special diet if you want them to grow up strong.

For starters, I do not wish for this dog to chew on people's ankles.

[A very pointed look is directed towards Kakashi at this statement. Castiel reminds himself to reprimand Sirius about feeding dogs eggs. If the dog makes a mess, he will make that boy clean it.]

[The reaction is a bit immediate.

Castiel looks at Kakashi like he is the biggest and most heartless person in the entirety of creation itself. As if the words itself is an act of betrayal. Castiel is not cruel and he does have mercy. And love towards Father's creations. This dog is one of them. This dog had no home. This dog is also so pitiful that when it wouldn't go away, Castiel gave in and took it in.

It's so harmless. It's behaving. It's not even making any noise.

Castiel isn't even aware of how the statement has affected him. He doesn't say anything and instead just looks at the dog.

[ Kakashi's expression softens slightly at Castiel's reaction, an amused hum sounding in his throat. He certainly wouldn't turn away a stray puppy, but keeping it in the shop isn't something that's possible -- especially if there are customers that might have allergic reactions to dogs.

Kakashi tilts his head slightly. ]

Well, I suppose I could keep him at my apartment for you, if you really want to keep him... and you can come visit him and take him on walks.

[ It isn't even like Castiel knows how to take care of a puppy, anyway. At least, not yet. Kakashi will have to teach him. ]

Pocchi might like the company.

[Suddenly, Kakashi is not the biggest jerk in the world and Castiel gives a bit of a blank-faced nod.

And takes the dog from Kakashi's hold. This time, he holds the puppy right instead of how he did earlier.]

Very well. I will come to your apartment frequently.

[A pause.]

I should look for an ... apartment as well. If I cannot keep the dog here.

[He pets the dog.]

[ Kakashi's eye crinkles up into a smile when Castiel holds the puppy correctly. In this moment, Castiel almost seems ... human. ]

What are you going to name him?

[Castiel blinks and looks at Kakashi, petting momentarily ceasing before he looks at the dog again. Who is wagging its tail; it is very pleased.

Funny, he never thought about naming the dog.]

I don't know. Dog? I didn't think about naming it.
