[The video feed clicks on around sundown tonight, when all the colors of evening are streaming across the sky. From the vantage point, which looks down on a number of shorter buildings, it's obvious that the person recording the video is someplace high, perhaps a tower somewhere.]
This is a good place.
[His voice is muffled somewhat by the breeze, and he's speaking quietly to himself anyway. A moment later, the feed switches to audio alone.]
I've been thinking a lot lately. This place is really different from most of the worlds people come from. Even when we're from the same place, just being here changes things for us. It's like we need to pick out a whole new future, even if we shouldn't have one.
Except...what if we don't know what to do with it? It's not just about having a job, but that's part of it.
How do you figure out what you're supposed to be?
