I have skills beyond simple murder, you know. I worked with vast computer systems recently. As L, I had access to central intelligence networks worldwide, and I know how they work--I know how to get in, and find information. Harmlessly. And I am very good at writing letters.

Not to mention, as I'm certain you're aware, my use of language and my own power make me a very effective asset when it comes to bargaining. I can get them to drop the charges, given the right circumstances, or at the very least to settle out of court.
