GOOD AFTERNOON, SIREN'S PORT!

And it is a good morning! First of all, allow me to extend a fondest welcome to any newcomer that I have not yet had the opportunity to meet! Welcome to the great city of Siren's Port! But, in addition to greetings and new meetings, it it is not just any morning: it is a morning of Important Service Announcements! ( Read more... )

Your enthusiasm and encouragement is appreciated, Suou Tamaki, but 'as much as you can' is typically one unit per person.

Please, please, call me Tamaki! I insist upon being called Tamaki--there should be no formalities among workers laboring towards a single attainable goal!

But, er--how much is a "unit"?

What a fine display of civic duty.

A pint. Donors of larger body mass may give two, in good health.

It is only what every citizen should do, especially in these troubled times!

Oh.... That's not very much, is it? Well--well, how often do you give blood?

Perhaps a good show of our willingness to help will put newcomers in a better light.

Myself? I've been on shift every day since the earthquake and so I probably won't until I have a few days off, but...you are allowed to donate every eight weeks.

Ah! I never thought of it that way! But yes, I suppose this does help our image! How good to know that my work is so universal, and and helps so many by doing so very little! After all, it isn't very much, all things considered!

Oh! You have been working quite diligently! How commendable, my good man, how commendable indeed! But--

EIGHT WEEKS?

Yes. To allow blood supply to naturally replenish itself.

But--but that's so long! That would take forever! Can't you make it replenish itself?

Eight weeks is hardly forever.

There...could be processes to speed things along- I don't know if we have that technology available here.

In any case, we've had a good turnout. The blood bank is back to good shape.

It's two months! That's such a long time! They should make that technology available, so everyone can do their part as many times as possible!

Oh... Ah, that's wonderful news! But people should keep coming in and donating, right? That's still important!

Bank....?

gaveherwings June 15 2010, 20:34:41 UTC
Regularly, yes, but we should be able to keep supply between a healthy interval.

You've already donated blood yourself, right? Didn't they give you an informational leaflet, explaining the process?

daddydaioh June 15 2010, 20:54:40 UTC
I--well, yes, they did! But there was so much happening at the time--those terrible cookies, and the cartons of orange juice, and there were stickers, so... I didn't really look at it! They should have just told me, though! That would be much easier!

Easy distractions, understandable. I'm sure the information there should answer any additional questions you might have.

Right! I'll do that! Er, but--very quickly, can you answer a question for me? There's people from other worlds here--so how does their blood work? It's all right?
