It's, uh, kind of a long story. [Ryoutarou looks even more sheepish, though it's hard to tell because the camera is still at an angle. It looks like it might have fallen and wedged itself just out of his reach.]
[Not going to laugh not going to laugh not going to - well, he manages to keep his face stoic but his mouth keeps twitching, betraying him. And his voice is lighter, just this side of an awkward cough and snicker.]
[Ryoutarou sighs but looks resigned. It's almost as if he's used to having to explain this sort of thing.] Well, see, I was taking the overpass, but I forgot about people driving on the wrong side of the road here. Then this woman came towards me with a huge baby carriage, it was taking up the whole sidewalk I swear. So I swerved to avoid her, but I couldn't go into the road because then I'd get hit by a car.
I guess they'd been doing construction on the railings or something, and there were some loose bolts, so when I scraped against it, the whole thing fell off and I went over the side. I bounced off an awning on the way down, and then hit his tree, and... well, you can see the rest.
Oh, not this specifically. I don't usually end up in a tree more often than once or twice a year. [He pauses, clearly thinking.] This has been a bad year, actually, this is the third time already.
