Murder! Another Case of Newcomer Slaying?

The article for today reports on the brutal death of yet another newcomer. The newcomer, whose body disappeared immediately following his death in a sector 4 warehouse, was identified as Jack, or Big Boss. Police were notified of the murder shortly after it occurred by another newcomer who showed up to the scene to investigate. The article gives a brief description of the murder and states that the scene was thoroughly investigated by the police force.

The reporter goes on to state that the investigation yielded indisputable evidence that Light Shiraga, a newcomer who joined the police force shortly after his arrival in Siren's Port and who was reported as being involved with the deceased, as the murderer. Much of the evidence is still considered classified, but the article lets slip that Shiraga and the victim had plans to meet the day of the murder, that the murder weapon was linked to Shiraga, and that further evidence pointing to Shiraga as the murderer was found at Shiraga's residence. The article reports that Shiraga has gone missing, having fled at an undisclosed time, and that the Siren's Port Police Department, in cooperation with St. Matthew, the bounty coordinator, has placed a bounty on Shiraga.

The article closes off stating that the bounty is currently sitting at $8,000, an unusually high amount for a newcomer wanted alive, because the police have questioned whether Shiraga may be the perpetrator behind the recent wave of newcomer killings - the brutality of the scene seems to fit several of the MO's of previous murders and attacks against newcomers. The police suggest that perhaps Shiraga got cocky or too impassioned when the murder hit closer to home, and slipped up in this particular case. This aspect of the killing is still under investigation, and Shiraga is wanted alive for questioning.

Weather Still Getting Siren's Port Down

This is a short blurb reporting on the continuation of the freak snowstorm in Siren's Port. The article reports that the current victim count of the freak cold is 10 casualties, with dozens of people injured through hypothermia and frostbite. It reports that most casualties have been in the poorer areas of the City, particularly the slums, where secure shelter is harder to come by and citizens have much lower incomes.

There is also a note that power outages are expected to continue throughout the day and evening, particularly at night, due to the cold and excessive snow. The article recommends that all citizens stock up on candles and keep warm while they can.
