It is unfortunate that we have not been able to get the Newcomer Office set up within the current government, as of yet. It's one of the many things we have been working on.

[Pauses.] Unfortunately, politics seem to be the one area where time is a much bigger factor then just skill.

[ A soft laugh ] That's for sure. The time necessary is practically a full-time job before you even get the job.

[That makes him smile, just a little.] Politics are much different back home. Most of what the NPP has come up with has been... guess work. Adapting.

I can offer you a job working with the NPP. It's not a board position, nor does it pay much. But it could get you started, and you can fill out your resume, while you look for another job as well.

[ He laughs a bit. ] That's true of any kind of politics, if you ask me. As much as the Poli Sci kids like to say there's a science to it, when you get right down to it, it's a pain in the ass to predict.

To predict as well as understand. I can say that I've looked at several politicians in the area and wondered why they didn't do something that made sense, rather then something that makes everyone upset.

For right now? We have advising positions, or menial office work. It's not very glamorous, I'm afraid.
