That's disheartening. It sounds like all the obvious routes have been crossed off then. I'm not surprised. Exits are generally less obvious than entrences. Might I hazard a guess and say the "bad news" you speak of was instant death?

I heard the Darkness got out first. They must've done some crazy things trying to get out, because the real nasty stuff called Seeping Darkness got everywhere. It's not supposed to be out in the middle of the day, but it was.
Still don't know who it was, but it weren't for Aslan's help, a lot of other people might've died.
So if you're gonna try and leave the city be real careful.
