[He'd sensed Dean's return, but he hadn't wanted to act right away. He still doesn't know what point in time this Dean is from, but he's still really glad to see him.]

[And Dean makes a relieved sound as he leans forward to get a better look at Castiel.]

Cas, there you are. Doing okay? [He's concerned in his Dean way while subtly relaxing a fraction because he's seen Cas is alive.]

[Castiel looks much the same as he ever does, expression even, but there are small changes. His hair is longer, he's a little pale and exhausted, and there's a silvery scar along the left side of his neck that's visible when the light hits right.

He doesn't seem to notice any of these things though, and brightens just slightly at that reaction. That was not the greeting of a Dean that barely knew who he was.]

I'm fine, Dean. What is the last you remember?

[Is he possibly from a closer time to when Castiel and Sam are from...?]

[He takes in all the details. Castiel looks a lot like when he'd been on that bender, hung over and frustrated at his heavenly father. Dean spreads his hands as he thinks about it.]

[Hey, he's been sober about five days now Dean, geez. He'd just been drunk a solid five days before that.]

[So Dean is ahead of Sam and he, then, this time.]

[Similar in time to Crowley then, maybe earlier; Crowley had said more like two years. At Dean's question he shakes his head slightly.]

My powers are coming back. I am still mortal as my healing has yet to return, but my senses, telekinesis, and flight are all functional.

[And suddenly, have an angel in the room, appearing in a flutter of cloth and feathers. He stares at Dean for a long moment, and then some tension seems to drain just slightly; he's really glad to see him.]

[The suddenness is so familiar and frankly, welcome. Dean offers Castiel a second cup of coffee he'd poured while talking to the angel and offers him a tired smile.] Long day. Good to see you, Cas.

No idea where the booze is in here so if you want to spike this, you'll have to do it.

[He takes the coffee as it's offered; he's been drinking a lot of it recently, considering someone (or more than one someone) had replaced all his alcohol with coffee and sports drinks.]

[He shakes his head slightly at the mention of spiking it. The horrible hangover is still strong in his mind, and with Dean's presence he feels less desire to drink.]

[He actually sits down, exhausted. He's always tired here, and on top of that he just provided blood to Sam again. Which he doesn't at all intend to tell Dean.]
