NEW YEAR’S EVE NEWS
After a good deal of praise and jeers for the year’s movers and shakers: Siren’s Port politicians, celebrities, rising business moguls, innovators, sports stars, infamous criminals (even a few newcomer names may appear, and letters to the editor will complain about their inclusion for weeks to come) there is a page or so devoted to several quack theories for the year ahead and a good deal of unhealthy speculation that the world may end in 2012.
The article then goes into detail about the various New Year's Eve festivities held around the city tonight. The first describes the lavish party to be held at AGI’s Club 24. Fliers for the party have promised catered gourmet food and snacks, free champagne at midnight and door prizes throughout the evening, including free passes to AGI establishments such as their company flagship, Afterglow xXx. They’ll kick off the new year with a display of illusionary magic and a ‘ball drop’ countdown over AGI’s tower, televised citywide for everyone who dares not venture out into the Darkness. This year, several snipers are being installed on the Tower’s roof, to ensure no monstrous disasters, like the New Year’s eve of ‘99, where a flock of Icarus Winged tore off the entire ball of glittering fiber-optic lights.
There’s an equally expensive affair over at a newer successful restaurant, The Grey Line, which holds SERO leaning and boasts similar events for their affiliates. The SERO fireworks, a dazzling pyrotechnical and laser display, will be shot off over the ocean from the cliff side property of the Stone Estate, visible from the restaurant’s wide, strongly darkness-proofed viewing windows. The night will celebrate the company’s progress and achievements in the past year. Their door prizes include the latest fleet of technological gadgets, along with vouchers for use at Seronex Pharmacies and Zipz Arcade. Bartenders from Gearheads are being brought in for the event, to whip up a special toast.
Lion’s Gate Observatory, another lavish party ticket, offers a spectacular view of both displays, as well as boasts a special evening of their own entertainment.
For the unaffiliated or those who want a more casual get-together, the Underground Mall is hosting a New Year's Bash in the food court, with the seating area converted into a dance floor. Snacks will be available from vendors all night long, and at midnight, a hired pyromancer will be performing a special indoor fireworks display. All mall clubs and entertainment venues will be open, with Sparks Casino drawing a lucky $1,000,000 jackpot raffle ticket at midnight.
All four parties start at 5PM and go until dawn.
- Madame Jurie, the newsfeed’s Horoscope Psychic, will be making a limited public appearance at Turnabout Station, doing FREE tarot readings for the new year.
