You stop getting homesick after a while. Of course there's still crap you miss. Like good Mexican food, the nightlife, Prada. But after a few years? You just don't think about it. [She rolls her eyes.] Until this time of the year.
All of a sudden, it hits you like a ton of bricks. Bricks that are also on fire. You remember being with your brothers, ruining toy drives, stealing those obnoxious bells from the Salvation Army weirdos, pretending to be Santa Claus so you can destroy Christmas in Whoville... [A longing sigh.] Now those? Those were the days.
[For a moment, she smiles, reminiscing. Then, she clears her throat.]
I obviously can't celebrate the holidays like I used to, but I'm trying to be festive here. So...? [She flips the camera around so it's facing her, er, Christmas tree. Lord only knows where she managed to find a palm tree this time of year, but she's covered it in purple lights and crystal decorations. The poor thing is bending under the weight of festivity.] Taadaa!
