[Written in Raphael's perfect narrow script. Prison leaves him lots of time to think about things.]

It is known this holy season celebrates the birth of a king of kings, a child of God who knows infinite compassion. It is written that this child, this Christ, knows and loves all, heedless of their sins and heedless of the contempt they may show in return.

It is written that this Christ is merciful, that this man cherishes all that is innocent. He smiles upon all children, blesses them, sees them comfort in their times of trial.

I have no love nor reverence for this so-called child of God. May it be, though, if he is as is written of him, that he provides his mercy and comfort to all children, even the child of such a man as I. Let him use the love reserved for me for someone who takes comfort in it.
