-’Fireworks’ at the Sector 5 Fairgrounds
Around 11 PM last night, several explosions erupted in the fairgrounds and amusement park in Sector 5, resulting in massive destruction. What structures weren't demolished in the initial blasts were damaged in the following conflagration, despite the Siren's Port Fire Department's best efforts. The damage wasn't restricted to the immediate vicinity; windows in nearby buildings and cars were shattered in the blasts.

One eye witness, who wished to remain unnamed, noted: "I heard what sounded like Nam all over again so I ran to the window. I still can't believe the size of the first fireball."

The fires were brought under control shortly before dawn. Firefighter E. Brubaker commented "I've never seen anything so eerie as a flaming, headless carousel horse. We're lucky it happened off season and at night, otherwise we'd be standing next to a massacre. This wasn't done by your run-of-the-mill arsonist. It was clearly planned by someone with access to a large amount of explosives, but hell if I know why. Doesn't make any sense to me."

So far a total of three casualties have been reported: two firefighters perished while attempting to put out the flames, as well as an elderly woman who suffered a heart attack during the explosions. Additionally, there have been at least a dozen reports of various non-fatal injuries relating to the events.

There are currently no suspects.

- Collar Killer Apprehended; Milking Fellow Newcomers for Blood’
Roman Sionis, alias Black Mask, was apprehended last night and is now in police custody. The serial murderer has evaded police capture since spring of this year after a stand off with officers when it was discovered he was responsible for the Collar Killer torture-murders under the alias J. Claude. One body was found in his basement last night, along with the Newcomer Jack Kelly.

A man on the street swears he saw the boy being rescued-- and, further, alleges that it was the masked vigilante Batman who was the one saving him. Jack Kelly had no comment either way when asked about the subject; his only response was to yell obscenities and throw a bottle from his bedside table in Skye Hospital until the reporters left.

According to tentative police reports, Black Mask was using Kelly's blood to mix a new drug that was both highly addictive and could heal almost any injury the user had. While now off the market, there are still a few vials allegedly floating around in Siren's Port's black market.
