[Someone is very, very upset today and for once is not going to any lengths to hide it.]

I'm assuming most of you read the news regarding the--the unfortunate incident for which the Felton production The Answer is being blamed. It's not quite my place to issue any formal statements on the matter, and most of the cast is being told to keep quiet, ( Read more... )

Nobody's always fine.

I tend to be more fine than most, in circumstances such as these.

I know you're really strong, but... If something was ever wrong, you'd tell me, right?

I-- Of course I would. But this isn't really about me, Ahiru.

I know! It's just, you seemed really upset, so I wanted to see if I could help.

Well, I...

[He switches to private.]

It's a bit selfish.

What is it?

I just... [He sighs.] I've always wanted to be a star, as you know, but not just for fame. I want to be a star to communicate with people, to send a message, to make an impact. And I'd finally secured a prominent role in a play--my very first, mind you--and the impression I make is...this.

It's horrifying. I've never wanted to be a part of something like this. I want to do the opposite. I--I know it's horribly egotistical to assume responsibility for a production I didn't direct or conceive, or to imply that I had anything to do with the tragedy that followed, at least not directly--but all the same...

I don't think it's bad at all that you wanted to make people's lives better, but - Kurt, this isn't your fault at all!

I know. I'm being foolish.

It's not bad to care about people! What happened to them... It's horrible. It's not wrong to be sad about it.

I am. [A weak smile.] I'm really sad.

I think most people would be.

Just remember that it's not your fault at all, okay?

I'll try. But it's kind of difficult, you know? Like--how it used to be difficult for you to accept compliments, or stop being down on yourself. You've gotten much better, but it took time, didn't it?
