[Someone is very, very upset today and for once is not going to any lengths to hide it.]

I'm assuming most of you read the news regarding the--the unfortunate incident for which the Felton production The Answer is being blamed. It's not quite my place to issue any formal statements on the matter, and most of the cast is being told to keep quiet, ( Read more... )

[He's at the kitchen table with a plate of uneaten breakfast in front of him. When Blaine approaches he just leans back against him wearily.]

[Blaine bends and puts an arm around him before pulling up to rub his shoulders.]

[Kurt is silent for a while, just staring at the newspaper clipping on the table. After a few moment he lets out a small, weary laugh.]

This Christmas season really sucks so far.

[A sniffle, and he pushes the article aside.] Well, there's that. I suppose it's time to start looking for a new second job.

[Blaine frowns a bit.] I don't know what to say about this. I can understand wanting to give up, but the way they went about it... I don't even know how they made this choice and I think it's crazy they're blaming the play.

[Blaine nods as his hands move to rub Kurt's neck.]

Those kids were born into a hopeless situation and it got to them, but suicide isn't the answer and trying to make sense of that suicide by blaming a play?

That's like blaming The Children's Hour when a lesbian makes that choice. That's not true or right and saying something like that takes away from the real beauty and pain of the art that was created.

You were amazing and the subject matter of what you were doing can't be blamed when teenagers look at their horrific circumstances and give up.

I think instead of pointing a finger at the play, people should be more concerned about stopping other kids from taking their lives.

[He listens very carefully. holding onto every word, then nods.]

I want to help. There has to be something I can do.

We should try to start something like the It Gets Better campaign here? I don't know how it would work though, considering the lives the kids here have to face.

They don't even get to have the hope that one day the Core will send them back to their homes where the Darkness isn't real...

I was actually considering that, now that you mention it.
