I have some questions I'd like to put to the people. [There's a reason this isn't voice and that's because he's standing over the dead body of a Darkness monster.]

If you were going to affiliate with one of the companies which one would it be and why? Or what are your reasons for wanting to remain neutral? Feel free to make your answers private. [ ( Read more... )

It is, yes.

[Exhales slowly. Measured.]

I'm aware. This isn't my first go around in intelligence, and there are...quite a lot of people, who knew me when I was young, who curse me for being able to harden myself that much. It's a lesson I've never really unlearned. I'm not sure I would, at this point.

[A PNNNNK off in the distance - a BB tossed against brink. His voice is soft, almost inaudible.]

A few million dead bodies reminding you of your past.

[A pause, then a steadying breath. His tone is different, all Magneto, President of Genosha. He has done this before.]

I'd try what worked in Genosha, only try to prevent civil war from breaking out. I don't know how to handle the top tiers of society, the social elite. I'd have Kuchiki-taichou and Emma work with integrating them into changing, show them it's possible to have power without abusing others. I'd...rework SERO to actually help people, instead of abuse them. Set up trials for those in charge. I don't believe Siren's Port's laws are set up to handle the charges though. I handed Genosha's government over to the International Criminal Courts. Sector 10 has to be cleaned up and actually habitable. There needs to be a focus on not importing food - there is plenty of agricultural space to grow food. AGI needs to be utterly dismantled - a system built on slavery crumbles is easier to just rebuild.

And, as much as my fellow Newcomers try far too few understand how to use the resources of the people here - the powers here - efficiently. They just have no idea what they are doing and refuse to learn.

Playing the role of hardened leader is guaranteed to make some people think of you as the bad guy, Michael.

[He's quiet as he listens to Magneto's quiet confession.]

A few million souls who could have everlasting peace if they were faithful. [And he thinks they were.] I've seen humanity live and die since they were first Created and each and every one of them have a place in Heaven waiting from the moment they're brought into existence.

[Taking in everything because while Michael can rule Heaven with an iron fist he would not do well in a human government.]

The perfect time to demolish AGI will come. [There's a hint of amusement in his voice when he says that.]

I do hope that you will teach me some things. Doing anything in a human way is very new to me.

There are precious few whose opinion of me I actually care about. Besides, there aren't very many who think of me as one of the good guys anyway.

[He actually holding his breath, not sure how Michael is going to take it. More so when the number is probably closer to ten million than nine.]

Some don't deserve peace.

[Like himself.]

[He listens, and mummers something in Hebrew, a few words from a passage of Ecclesiastes - Chapter 3. He read it Bar Mitzvah, and it's always been special.]

A time for everything yes?

[Michael can't see the headtilt. He might be able to hear it.]

Teach you what?

Just be sure not to lose those threads you have or you really will be nothing more than the bad guy.

[Michael doesn't seem to really give a damn - at least not until he knows all of the details for sure.]

Then they too will have a place prepared for them, in hell.

[There. That last word holds a bit of emotion. Pity.]

Always a time for everything.

[Now there's a considerable pause on Michael's end.]

Whatever you'd be willing to teach me.

I won't go down that path again.

[And he won't.]

Yes. I suppose that's true.

[His holds nothing. It's just blank, calm, accepting.]

It's easier to teach what one's student is hunger to learn, speaking from experience.

I'm glad to hear that.

[And he is, it can be heard in his voice.]

You can't lay the blame entirely on yourself. While the choice was yours to make you're hardly responsible for everything.

[There are other generally other people involved. Not to mention sin.]

I'm not an average student. I can tell you how fast the Earth is moving around the sun at this exact moment, when any star in the universe was Created, how many heartbeats any animal can average for any length of time and the entire history of my planet without so much as glancing at a textbook. But there's been a barrier between me and mankind. Watching, listening whenever I had the chance but never experiencing any of it.

I'm glad someone believes me.

[Because really. Those who know who he is? Do not trust him. He can see it in how they look at him.]

Unless circumstances have changed, you don't have the knowlegde needed to say that about me.

[It's still flat. There's a lot of self-loathing to him, and abused children, even grown abused children, often truly believe they deserve to be hurt - even though it wasn't his parents abusing him, the number of adults in his life who have is great.]

In all due respect, Michael, none of my students have ever been average.

What is it you are most curious about, right now?

I have no reason not to believe you.

[God's honest truth.]

Knowledge about you isn't something I need to say that. People are hardly alone in their sins and no one has freewill like humans do.

[Michael's not going to stop Magneto from hating himself (because the angel can't).]

I'll have to take your word for it. [To him all of the humans have become a blur unless they were essential to his plan.]

Positions of command. There are various sorts across the world.

You say people when you mean human. I'm people, I'm not human.

[He explains that a lot, his tone says.]

Military, para-military, civilians, politics? General or any place in particular?

Humans, people - both have the chance to choose their path. [Nope, not surprised at all when Magneto says he's not human. He doesn't even bat an eye.]

All of the above. We can start with one and move onto the others.

Military is best studied together, because there are systems in place to compare the ranks - few militaries work completely solo any more. They are also the easiest to catch, and bleed into other rank structures.

When you are talking governments, it's much more complex, depending on economic model and type of succession.
