[At 9:25 am, an anonymous text flashes briefly across several networks, among them the one intended for newcomers.]
At pater infēlix, nec iam pater,
"ubi es? quā tē regiōne requīram, Īcare?"
[At 2:17pm, there's a still and solemn quiet, and then a careful, ponderously deliberate voice, so much more painstakingly chosen than most of his time and words

...last network activity I can find is back in September. But we already know that he's been around since then.
When and where was he last seen?

That's something they make a point not to miss.
Samus Aran's murder has rattled him, so has Dr. Magnus' and he doesn't want to think the worst.
Unfortunately, although it's never been stated so outright, he suspects that being pulled 'home' is not a thing of hope, for Shiroe.]
How long? When was the last you've seen of him?

[Since Mr. Nightray has technically lost so much more.
Shiroe was never his Raison d'Etre, only a projected simulacrum of himself, in so many ways. It feels a little subconsciously vain, to miss him.]
I have, I called Hillsdale this morning. Spoke to three of his professors. They thought little of his absences this week. Several students take the last few weeks of courses off, if they have good standing attendance, and receive no grade penalty. There are finals, and...
Honestly, I think they just don't care.

Goddammit.
When she sees the message blink at her on her NV, it's the only word that stands out to her. She's not stupid; anonymous or not, she knows exactly who sent out the message. Still, she doesn't call him, doesn't try to reach out to him. If he's trying to call her in some roundabout way, if he's trying to call for his Icarus - Monad - and believes she's going to go to him, then he's sadly mistaken.
She waits.]

She glances over when he mentions Shiroe.
No one has seen or heard from Shiroe Rei Seki since last Tuesday, have they?

She immediately opens up the commlink and locks the conversation.]
Daedalus... I'm sorry. I haven't seen or heard from him in weeks, personally.

He keeps much of his own company.
[Again, in a painfully similar way, and Daedalus has never thought to encourage him otherwise. Wanted him out of that mad, overcrowded household. Just a few weeks ago, over grilled cheese, they spoke of the importance in keeping a secret place, where no one could find or reach them.
'Except for me, right?' he should have thought to clarify.]
But since he has ARVC... [It's a horrifying thought, that a medical emergency could have happened and he'd never know it, until too late.] (Don't- I've already looked into hospital admissions.)
I really should have checked in with him sooner.

My family's had that name for years. You'd think it would mean we were a bunch of useless people, doomed to be on the sidelines and end up casualties, but that's not me and it never has been. Cruel nods or not, we take the old associations and forge new ones, otherwise we're just doomed to repeat the same mistakes. And no one can afford to focus on details like that.

Yako is a Katuragi too ... perhaps you are related.

He took residence in my young Earl's home at one time, had he not?

[And a little stern-faced, being laughed at. Emotions are difficult enough to communicate when they're received in polite compassion.]
Shiroe took residency there, yes. He also lived with Ciel Phantomhive and Alois Trancy earlier on, when they were only able to afford an apartment in Sector 9.
