Fine, even though I've made it abundantly clear, I'll say it again.

My concern is that people arriving in the field are not safe, and that newcomers are not safe. I can take care of myself, I can even take care of others when I am in good health. But, as newcomers are frequently in a large amount of danger, it seems, I'm surprised to see resources being used for something like... THIS.

The protection force is inadequate. People are still being hurt, yet what I find happening at a resource center is this.

If you can do something about that by stopping me from setting some tables up in the community center, be my guest! Until then, I can assume it's sour grapes because you know no one would ever go out with you.

The community center is open for use for whatever people are interested in organizing for their fellow Newcomers. The Newcomer Clinic, caseworker offices, and some of the NPP offices are located in the community center as well.

I think you could look at events like this as just another way of getting Newcomers to meet one another and building up a little bit of morale and community spirit. [ She pauses, smiling wryly. ] Of course, not everyone might see it that way, but that's why we'd like to have more people coming up with other events so that everyone has a chance to participate in something.
